	THE BRITISH GRENADIERS. The correct date of this fine old melody appears altogether uncertain, as it is to be found in different forms at different periods; but it is here placed in juxtaposition to Sir Edward Noel's Delight, and All you that love good fellows, or The London Prentice, because evidently derived from the same source. The commencement of the air is also rather like Prince Rupert's March, and the end resembles Old King Cole, with the difference of being major instead of minor. Next to the National Anthems, there is not any tune of a more spirit-stirring character, nor is any one more truly characteristic of English national music. This version of the tune is as played by the band of the Grenadier Guards. The words are from a copy about a hundred years old, with the music.
